Raymond was thinking about trading his kayak for a damaged paddleboard on Craigslist, but he wasn’t sure the severity of damage & also wanted to see what the repair cost would be before he went through with the trade.
The SUP had a lot of dents in the rails & a few cracks. The foam underneath had been damaged & was caving in certain areas. Ray wanted to have the damage assessed & also get a repair quote before trading his kayak. So he met the other guy at our shop to iron everything out.
By sucking out as much moisture as we could from the core, we could reduce water damage & limit long-term effects. Patching the cracks would prevent future water damage and a new paint job (blue gel coat) would add durability to the rails & make the board feel new again.
…From scuffed up red rails, open cracks / holes taking in water & a jiggly, old, half-broken black fin; To smooth baby blue rails, watertight glass & a snug White Fin. The owner of the board, Ryan, said “…Feels like a new board I love it” when picking it up.
